About Us
Albion Wheelers is a road cycling club that is based in the south of Johannesburg. The club was established over 20 years ago, starting off as a small club, but over the last few years, it has grown in numbers to well over 300 members.
Albion Wheelers’ main focus is rider safety. Each riding group has a following support car. As part of being a club member, it is expected that each club member to perform support duty at least once a year.
OUR PACING
Members should note the importance of riding in the correct group – as riding in the wrong group could potentially put the whole group in danger - if riding too fast/too slow.
Rides
There are club rides pretty much every weekend and public holidays. There are times when there are no club rides because of big cycling events, like the 947 or when the club is assisting with a cycle race. During the colder months or when there are cycling races, groups are combined. Club rides details are sent via the club’s WhatsApp, which will have the ride start times, the route and the approximate distance.
Racing
The club does caters for those riders who would like to license and race, but the primary focus will be the members who just want to ride. Albion Wheelers has well established race teams for both the mens and ladies and have yielded some good results.
Join Albion Wheelers if you want to ride like-minded individuals who come together every weekend and improve their lives through cycling.
